Mental Performance Coach · Self-Sabotage Specialist · Author
You do not need to be falling apart to feel like something is quietly working against you. Most people who come to this work are functioning well, and they know there is more. This is how you find out what is in the way.
About Michael Dowling-Fleet
My clients do not lack motivation. They do not lack discipline, work ethic, or capability. What they have is a performance ceiling they cannot fully explain: a persistent gap between what they know they are capable of and what they are consistently producing.
Think of it this way: they are already a high-output engine, well-built and well-driven. My job is to find the invisible drag on the chassis and remove it. Not to fix something broken. To tune something fast into something exceptional.
As a certified mental performance coach and COO of TrueMind Intelligence, I work with driven professionals, entrepreneurs, and athletes at the intersection of neuroscience, subconscious reprogramming, and elite performance.
"Strategy gets you into the top 10%. Understanding your own subconscious is what takes you beyond it."
What I Do
The root cause of underperformance is rarely a lack of effort, intelligence, or desire. It is a subconscious programme, built for childhood survival, running unchecked in your adult life. The work is identifying exactly which pattern is operating in you, where it came from, and what it will take to remove it.
Resilience is not the ability to absorb punishment. It is the ability to return to peak function after disruption, at speed. I work with clients to build the psychological infrastructure that makes pressure a performance trigger rather than a performance killer.
Sustainable high performance is a design problem. We build the environment, the habits, and the mental frameworks that make your best work the default, not the exception. This is long-term, structural change, not motivation.
"The highest performers I work with are not struggling. They are succeeding, and they can feel there is another gear. Finding it is never about working harder. You must identify what's working against you. Then remove it."
Michael Dowling, MDF Mental Performance
The Book
Inside every mind there are two characters running the show. One is strategic, calm, and future-focused. The other is impulsive, comfort-seeking, and will do almost anything to avoid the unfamiliar. Most people have never been introduced to either of them.
The Nightclub is the accessible, practical guide to what self-sabotage actually is, where it comes from, and what you can do about it right now. Shaped by years of research, real client stories, and a proven reprogramming methodology, it is the book that turns insight into change.

How It Works
STEP 01
A free 10-minute call. No pitch. I want to understand your situation quickly and tell you honestly whether this work is right for you. If it is, we go further. If it is not, I will say so.
STEP 02
Before any coaching begins, I need to understand your situation properly. How we do that depends entirely on you and what you bring. There is no fixed intake process, no template to fill in.
STEP 03
A focused 1:1 programme built around your specific pattern. Some clients complete the initial work and have what they need. Others continue — through structured 12-week engagements or ongoing monthly support. The format follows the work, not the other way around.
Private Coaching
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from this work. Most of my clients are functional, capable people with jobs, relationships, and goals. They have a quiet, persistent sense that something is holding them back and they cannot put their finger on what it is.
That gap between where you are and what you know you are capable of is not a motivation problem. It is a subconscious one. And it is exactly what this work is designed to close.
Every engagement is different. What you bring determines how we work. There is no fixed programme, no off-the-shelf package, no standard intake process that every client must sit through.
Some clients need a short, focused piece of work. Others work with me across twelve weeks or more. Some return on a rolling basis, picking things back up when a new challenge surfaces, a promotion lands, or performance under pressure starts to slip. The format is always determined by what the work actually requires, not by a product menu.
What stays constant is the approach: identify what is quietly working against you, understand where it came from, and remove it. Everything else is shaped around you.
